Jason Anthony Rodriguez is a native of New York City. He grew up within the vogue community, while curiously exploring underground dance from a distance.
Primarily he was exposed to the world of dance at Brockport College, which sparked his interest in pursuing a professional dance career. To further his technical training, and to persue an Arts Management Degree, Jason transferred to the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College. While training, Jason was invited by Dwight Rhoden to attend the Complexions Contemporary Ballet Summer Intensive.
After graduating in 2012, Jason received various opportunities to strengthen his technical training, teaching abilities, and choreographic aesthetics. He has been seen assisting Ballet teacher Dorit Koppelboth in class and on media (Broadway Dance Center’s BDC Moves). He has assisted Kevin Wynn by setting pieces and teaching classes, performed with Abraham.In.Motion as a dancer for APAP, and, he was a part of the pre-production progress of the Off-Broadway show Fortress of Solitude, with Camille A. Brown and Dancers. He has worked with Nomad Contemporary Ballet and Owen/Cox Dance Group, and has performed with Buglisi Dance Theatre in their yearly ritual of The Table of Silence.
Jason is personal/rehearsal assistant for Kevin Wynn, who is on faculty at both Purchase College, and the Alvin Ailey School. He has been a member of the Legendary House of Ninja since 2014, and has worked on various projects, performances and music videos with the house.
